The club has an active group of touring and flat water paddlers, who undertake trips in all kinds of craft, including kayaks, open canoes, and stand-up paddle boards.
As the club is based on the River Wey navigation, local trips are a perfect introduction to flat water paddling. These can be extended to encompass the river sections of the Wey as well as the Thames. A popular club trip involves a route up the Wey navigation from the club, returning down the river section through Brooklands and Weybridge – a full day trip of around 17km.
Within the local area, there are many routes on the backwaters of the Wey and the Basingstoke Canal. Slightly further afield, the club has paddled loops off the Thames such as Chertsey’s Abbey River, St. Patrick’s Stream near Shiplake, and the Jubilee River near Eton.
The club also runs trips to other stretches of water, including the Medway in Kent, and open water paddling such as Langstone Harbour.
During Spring, Summer, and Autumn, the club aims to run at least one flat water touring trip a month.
